Munroe Center for the Arts (MCA) and Lexington Arts and Crafts Society (LACS), Depot Square Gallery and the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with many other Lexington organizations, present ArtWalk 2008.

This year features two weeks of art--from May 17 to June 1--in retail and public spaces in town--from MCA, LACS, and The Depot Square Gallery to Cary Library, the Lexington Depot, and Buckman Tavern. See the Official ArtWalk Map and the Art Hunt Map created by the Lexington Council for the Arts.
ArtCycle!
ArtCycle, an art parade along Massachusetts Avenue of all things on wheels organized by MCA's ArtSpan. Rally at the Visitor's Center at noon, parade starts at 1 PM! Bring your modified, tricked out bike, stroller, wheelchair. Bring skates and skateboards! See the ArtCyle page.
Reception!
Come to a reception at Lexington Historical Society's Depot (Saturday, May 17, 5-7). We'll have a slide-show and talk by Jerry Beck, founder of Lowell's Revolving Museum and a jazz piano trio produced by Jeff Leonard. Light fare. (This is the only event with a charge; all proceeds of your tax-deductible $25 admission goes to ArtWalk.)
Performances!
Sunday afternoon from noon on at the Visitor's Center, come see the Lexington Women's Dance Ensemble, Dance Inn, the Lexington Evergreen Group's T'ai Chi Fan Dance, the Matching Orange Band and more! Full schedule TBA.
Discovery Day!
Also scheduled during ArtWalk is Lexington's annual Discovery Day, which invites residents to "rediscover" their town. Just so, ArtWalk 2008 invites residents to discover the talented artists in their town.

2004's Artwalk was "an extraordinary array of arts and artists," according to the Middlesex Beat. ArtWalk 2008 features:
- Art by 50 artists throughout Lexington Center
- Reception with performative talk by Jerry Beck, Director of the Lowell's Revolving Museum.
- ArtCycle Parade--please join in!--down Massachusetts Avenue to Munroe Center for the Arts' Open House.
- Open Houses at Munroe Center for the Arts & the Lexington Arts & Crafts Society. Also: special exhibits at both locales.
- Discovery Day
- "Keepers of Tradition: Folk Arts in Massachusetts" at the National Heritage Museum
- "Cinderella" performed by the Lexington School of Ballet
- Lexington Pops Chorus concerts
- "Project New Orleans" exhibit at MCA with reception
- Metalworkers & Polymer Clay & Painters exhibits at LACS
- Lexington Players performance, Hancock Church
- Women's Dance Ensemble performance, Visitor's Center Mainstage (erected for ArtWalk)

Volunteers Welcome
ArtWalk welcomes volunteers. Currently we are looking for persons interested in planning and in designers. In May, we will need help moving art, putting up posters, and running various events.
In-Kind & Cash Donations
ArtWalk welcomes donations of food and drink for our May 17 reception and free or discounted printing and copying services. We will post needs here as they arise.
