Ceramics Classes for Adults
These classes instruct students and demonstrate handbuilding methods, throwing skills, surface design and glazing. New students will learn foundational skills in clay forming while returning students will continue to explore new techniques. Instructors work with students as a group as well as individuals.

Creative Handbuilding

This class will cover the basics of hand building: pinch, slab and coil, as well as different surface techniques. Students will analyze the ways one can use, alter and combine these elements to push creative possibilities, use one’s imagination, and one’s life, and be inspired by ceramics of different artists and cultures.
Throughout the class, images of other pieces will be shown, both in-person and digitally, for inspiration. Students can spend time sharing work in progress, discussing ideas and aesthetics, and exploring technical challenges. Expand class demonstrations, one-on-one assistance, and group conversations with student input being an important part of the process. All levels are welcome.
