This summer, we are offering a full day (9am - 3pm) of camp onsite, indoors and outdoors*, with 4 weeks of our CIT program offered for rising 7th through 9th graders.
The 5 day CIT program involves two sections. Morning activities center on an interactive, group curriculum structured for teens. CITs will explore DEIB concepts (diversity/equity/inclusion/belonging), working on a collaborative creativity project with a group coordinator and/or special guest. After lunch, CITs integrate into the camp day, working with counselors to observe and help put DEIB concepts into practice.
See a sample weekly schedule (subject to change)
Visit our Facebook page for photos from previous camps and other programs!
* camp activities will happen indoors in inclement weather such as high winds, thunder, extreme heat, etc.
Week 1: Bones & Fossils
|
Week 3: Bird Nerds Week
|
Week 5: Folks, Myths & Legends
|
Week 7: Intergalactic Week

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program serves to bridge rising 7th through 9th graders from campers to camp counselors at Munroe Center for the Arts. CITs will gain valuable experience, centered around leadership, communication, team building, and behavior monitoring skills. While immersed in the arts, and engaged with younger students, CITs serve as positive role models. They will learn classroom management techniques and assist both instructors and counselors during a variety of fun, interactive activities. As in the past, a main tenet of the CIT program centers around awareness, acceptance and inclusion with curriculum and activities designed to foster understanding and mindfulness.

By the end of the week, CITs will feel inspired by their own group art accomplishment and confident in the cooperation and leadership skills they have developed. In the following years, CITs should feel prepared to become Camp Volunteers as incoming sophomores, and Camp Counselors upon turning age 16.
