Munroe Center for the Arts (MCA)
COVID-19 Policy
May 31, 2022
We value the health and safety of all our artists, staff, teachers, students, and visitors. We thank you for being here, and ask for your assistance in staying vigilant and thoughtful in helping one another to get through this pandemic. Please know that the policies described here are subject to change should relevant health data in our community change.
VACCINATIONS
As of January 10, 2022, students entering the MCA who are eligible must show proof of at least the first vaccination shot, or proof of exemption as described below. As of January 31, 2022, full vaccination is required, (i.e., individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose in a two-dose series, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine). No refunds are available on or after the day a class begins or to any student who is not fully vaccinated at the time of the vaccination check.
Due to state requirements for camps, the MCA summer camp program will not be allowing any vaccination exemptions.
VACCINATION EXEMPTION REQUESTS may be made to the MCA program where a student or staff is registered. A written letter needs to be on file in the MCA office.
All staff, teachers, and volunteers at the MCA are fully vaccinated, and any new staff, teachers and volunteers who will be in the building will be required to show proof of full vaccination, or exemption as described above.
MASKS
From May 31, 2022 we have put in a Mask Advisory. We are asking Staff and Students to wear a mask when in the building.
The main office maintains a supply of masks for anyone who needs one, as well as hand sanitizer.
COVID-19 SYMPTOMS & EXPOSURE
Anyone feeling unwell with cold, flu, or COVID-19 symptoms, however minor, needs to respectfully stay out of the building.
If a class was missed due to COVID-19, students should contact their dance or music program, or for theatre/ceramics/visual arts classes call or email the MCA office: cristina@munroecenter.org
If a student tests positive at any point, they need to let their teacher at the MCA know so that administrative staff here can ascertain if the student was infectious when they were in the building, and if anyone else might have been affected. Anyone testing positive should immediately isolate for 5 days, and until they are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) with symptoms improving. In taking precautions, individuals should wear a well-fitted mask (KN95 or better) in the MCA building at least 10 days after showing symptoms.
If a student has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, they are asked to follow CDC guidelines.
“Close contact” means being less than 6 feet away from an infected person (laboratory-confirmed or clinical diagnosis) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more.
Thank you to our entire MCA community for your tenacity, and kindness as we persevere through this pandemic. Questions or concerns can be made to MCA's executive director by email, or by phone (M - Th, 10am - 5pm) - 781.862.6040

- If vaccinated and no symptoms - a student can return to class, but should monitor for symptoms for 10 days after the last close contact with someone with COVID-19. Even if symptoms don’t develop, individuals in close contact should get tested at least 5 days after the last close contact with someone with COVID-19. In taking precautions, students should come to class with a well-fitted mask (KN95 or better) for these 10 days. If symptoms develop, individuals need to isolate immediately, get tested, and report their status to their MCA teacher.
- If not up-to-date with vaccinations - students need to stay at home and quarantine for 5 full days.
