Golden Tricornes 2019
For Lexington's 300th anniversary celebrations in 2013, local artists created a town-wide scavenger hunt of gold tricorn hats. The event was such a success that it is still continuing with more local shops and more artists involved!
Eight local artists transform traditional felt tricorne hats into artistic creations according to their chosen medium and inspiration. The hats are then photographed, tagged, and hidden in two waves amidst chosen Lexington area businesses. The first person to identify a Golden Tricorne is rewarded with the hat.
In years past, winners would wear their creations in the Patriots' Day Parade. However, due to limited volunteer power, this portion of the event will not happen this year. Winners will leave their contact information with the business where the hat was found, in the hope of joining future parade entries.
