IN THE GALLERY
The Archetypal Figure
Exhibition Dates: November 5 - January 5, 2018
Opening Reception: Saturday, November 17, 5-7pm On display now is the work of 13 individuals from the Spirituality/Creativity Workshop facilitated by Judith Cooper. This workshop was designed as an introspective journey with the intention of discovering an archetype that will lead to the creation of a meaningful piece of art. An archetype is a Jungian psychological term for something that gives shape and form to your energy and how it manifests in your life. A good analogy for an archetype is a skeleton is to the body as an archetype is to the psyche. Each workshop participant has created a human figure that is embodied with the energy of their chosen archetype. This creation becomes a symbol that is used to inspire, to honor, heal, empower, or celebrate this aspect of the artist's self. Descriptive writings are provided by each participant for their artwork. The gallery is located on the middle floor of the arts center, room 213 and the hallway Open Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm, or by special appointment |
