She works in her Medford, MA studio and is a member of the Cambridge Art Association.
As a former Illustrator, her work has appeared in Esquire Magazine, the New York Times Review of Books and Strathmore Paper Products
Current work has been exhibited at the Massachusetts State House, Cary Memorial Library, Hopkinton Center for the Arts, Munroe Center for the Arts, Lexington, MA.
She has been featured on The Change Blog, The Daily Interview, Makers Make Podcast, Imagine the Possibilities Podcast, and the 100 Proof Radio Show
Amantha’s main inspiration is the desire to create forcefully joyous paintings that can't be ignored. Her bold and optimistic artwork grows out of a passionate urge to spread light and happiness. Through bold color choices and energetic brushwork, she infuses each painting with positive energy that lifts the spirit.
Artist Statement
I am making art that is an excessively exuberant stand against today’s avalanche of negativity and hate. I’m an extremist - extreme in my love of color, kindness and love. These paintings are an invitation to join the party.
Be radically optimistic
Be persistently positive.
Refuse to lie down and let the hateful run us over. I turn my back on those who will drag us down - let them drown in their own toxicity. I am throwing confetti and leading a parade of candy and love and color.
The gallery is open during MCA office hours, M - F 9:00 - 5:00, or by special appointment: 781.862.6040
