Outdoor Ornaments

This holiday season, join your community of artists to REDUCE & REUSE & celebrate the arts!
OUTDOOR ORNAMENTS
Picture
Paint or decorate a wooden ornament to be hung on trees in Lexington Center.  Details below!

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Please submit your decorated ornaments the second week of December, 7 - 10 at the Munroe Center for the Arts.  A DROP BOX is located just outside the back door.

If you bring yours after the due date, please hang them on the tree outside the front of the Munroe Center for the Arts, and the committee will try and move them downtown, time permitting.

See MATERIALS below, for more information.  Supply your own, or stop by Munroe for one.
END OF DISPLAY:
We will be having ornaments displayed through the holiday season, and perhaps longer.  By providing your email, we can keep you updated about this display as well as let you know about future creative opportunities and events.

ARTIST CONTACT EMAILS:
We learned from our informal Art Block Party this summer that we really need to collect emails in order to keep artists informed about any changes, or updates.  ⭐️PLEASE SIGN IN HERE⭐️ if you create an ornament!  Thank you.

MATERIALS - create your own, or pick one up at the Munroe Center for the Arts - starting Wed. November 25, while supplies last!  Disks can be found in a box behind the building, outside the back door.
  1. Cut a wooden disk from your new Christmas tree stump(the size should be no more than about 4 inches in diameter and 1” thick, with a hole drilled in it to hang).  You can submit as many of these as you like - the more, the merrier!
  2. OR Stop by the Munroe Center for the Arts to pick up a pre-cut circle of wood for you, and/or your family (limit 4 per household) ** see materials donation below, to cover these costs
  3. OR You can purchase your own wooden circles, and submit as many as you like!

DECORATE:
  • Use acrylic or other waterproof paints.
  • We will aim to spray each ornament with lacquer but expect them to stand up on their own before this.
  • You can also write your family name on one side!
  • If using your own wooden piece, please add a string or a ribbon about 10” long for hanging.

MATERIALS DONATION:  Please help defray the costs by donating $1 per wooden disk:
  1. PayPal via our website (please add 5% for processing fees)
  2. Deliver a check or cash to the Munroe office (up the stairs, room 214)
  3. If no one is in the office, please leave this in an envelope-with-your-name in the Munroe Center for the Arts' red mail cubby inside the front door.
