ABOUT OUR STUDIO
We have an etching American French Tool Press, equipped with large bearings, solid steel rolls, and a 30" x 48" bed. Also in our studio is a tabletop Monotype 22 Press. This 22" x 44" press requires less strength to operate, and is perfect for lighter pressure printmaking. The printmaking studio utilizes non-toxic materials. |

WORKSHOP
The Painterly Print: Making Monoprints Sunday March 22 1-4pm Instructor: Stephanie Stigliano $75 This workshop is a fun introduction to “the painterly print” monoprint. We will paint on Lexan sheets from a spring inspired still life—fresh flowers and light airy colors—and build layers of transparencies. These will be transformed as they go through the press which adds spontaneous magic. We will use half sheets of Rives BFK (11” x 15”) which effectively translates soft transitions, high contrast, and delicate lines. |

TetraPak is a type of food carton often used for soups, broths, and shelf-stable milks whose plastic-faced foil lining makes it a popular printmaking material. In this workshop, we’ll use salvaged TetraPak cartons and learn how to score, peel, and cut them to create a range of visual effects. We’ll then print the plates, experimenting with both intaglio and relief techniques while becoming familiar with the press. Experimentation is encouraged, so bring ideas and imagery you’d like to work from.
