In the Garden

This is the third year for our garden designed to attract butterflies and artwork. Currently in the garden are new blooms and the bat mitzvah project of Aviva Pearlmutter-Bearson. Anyone who can take the time off the beaten path to view her artwork will go away much happier, we can assure you! Parking can be found behind the building or along Mass. Ave., and the garden is in the front of the building.
ARTISTS' STATEMENT
This exhibition is my Bat Mitzvah project. I wanted to do something to do with art, and Munroe Center for the Arts provided the perfect solution; paint rocks and make mosaic spheres for the garden. I quickly realized that this was more than just painting some rocks to look pretty. This was a way of brightening people’s days by giving them something beautiful to see. There were bumps along the way, such as issues with varnish, trouble finding rocks, and other small problems. But in the end, it all worked out. I would like to thank the amazing Munroe Center for the Arts for giving me this extraordinary opportunity, Mosaic Oasis for their wonderful instruction in helping me learn the basics of mosaics and for giving me materials and space, and my family for reminding me to varnish and for helping me get all my supplies.
