Monday Youth Ceramics
Grades 4 - 8
Mondays, 4 - 5:30PM
April 7 - June 2, no class 4/21 & 5/26
Instructor - Jamie Magid
$266 + $40 materials fee
Students will begin by learning hand-building techniques to create from their imagination. This class explores topics of form, texture, patterns, and glazing, while teaching basic studio responsibilities and cooperation. Project prompts can be functional as well as sculptural.
All experience levels are welcome. All students are asked to review the 2024-25 ceramics studio guidelines (provided upon registration) ahead of their first class in the space.
Grades 4 - 8

Clay Creations
Grades K - 4

This class gives younger students a chance to experiment with squishing, rolling, and pounding out clay into fun and functional ceramic pieces. Through the introduction of basic handbuilding methods, students will learn the value of expressing creativity through 3D artmaking, while developing fine motor skills and establishing pottery clean-up habits. An apron/smock is not required but good for clean-up.
All experience levels are welcome. All students are asked to review the 2024-25 ceramics studio guidelines (provided upon registration) ahead of their first class in the space.

Learn fundamentals for throwing on the pottery wheel! By practicing hands-on basics like centering and trimming, students can then create simple, consistent forms on the pottery wheel. Demonstrations will show students wheel-throwing basics for cylinders and bowls, as well as introduce them to different clay bodies and glazes.
