Instructor - Judith Cooper
$351 + $40 materials fee
This class will cover the basics of hand building: pinch, slab and coil, as well as different surface techniques. Students will analyze the ways one can use, alter and combine these elements to push creative possibilities, use one’s imagination, and one’s life, and be inspired by ceramics of different artists and cultures. Throughout the class, images of other pieces will be shown, both in-person and digitally, for inspiration. Students can spend time sharing works in-progress, discussing ideas and aesthetics, and exploring technical challenges. Expanded class demonstrations, one-on-one assistance, and group conversations with student input will all be an important part of the process.
