Munroe Center for the Arts has been serving Lexington residents and neighbors for many generations.  This summer, ArtSpan is back with it’s summer camp for ages 5-12* - but with a pandemic twist!  We have been working under State reopening guidelines, as well as local Board of Health guidelines for camp licensure in order to provide a safe camp.  And we have been listening to our camp families and working with seasoned staff to bring about a fun camp as well.

This year ArtSpan will be having an on-site program in the morning with ceramics and arts and crafts, plus an at-home, online program with a theater class, and a creativity challenge in the afternoon.  Morning drop-off times will be staggered by 15 minutes to prevent congestion.  These will start at 8:30 and run in four waves through 9:30.  Camp will run for three hours in the morning, with a snack mid-morning.

Our on-site camp will be outside, or indoors with ventilated rooms if the weather is not hospitable.  Campers and staff will be required to wear masks, and instead of going from class to class, this year campers will stay with the same teacher and counselor all week.  Groups will be limited to eight campers, organized by similar ages.  Prior to camp, students will receive a bag of tools and materials for the week’s activities rather than share materials.  As part of its June reopening plan, the MCA has daily disinfecting of all touchpoints, as well as intermittent sanitizing during the day.

Each week is a separate program and requires registration in advance.  See below for weekly themes and dates.

* Our CIT Program is currently not running at this point in time due to changes made during the coronavirus.  As the summer progresses, we will be evaluating how to bring back this program.

Price:  $399 - Includes morning onsite activities, and afternoon online activities, as well as individual materials in camp bags available the Friday prior to camp.  Discounts are applied for multiple weeks and/or multiple children registered within the same family (see below).
