Youth Ceramics
Grade 4 - 8th (as of 2025-26 school yr)
Mondays, 4 PM - 5:30 PM
August 4 - August 18
Instructor - Jamie Magid
$114 + $40 materials fee
Students will begin by learning hand-building techniques to create from their imagination. This class explores topics of form, texture, patterns, and glazing, while teaching basic studio responsibilities and cooperation. Project prompts can be functional as well as sculptural.
All experience levels are welcome. All students are asked to review the 2024-25 ceramics studio guidelines (provided upon registration) ahead of their first class in the space.

Learn the fundamental skills for handmade ceramics through regular demonstrations and tailored projects. The pottery wheel will be the focus, with students creating complex, consistent forms, but can incorporate handbuilding for details. Students can develop their personal preference, style, and eye for detail. Feel free to explore sculptural and functional projects while practicing techniques.
