Getting Here

Parking can be found along Massachusetts Avenue, or in the lot behind the building. We do not provide transportation service to the Munroe Center for the Arts. However, we are within about a 5 minute walk to Lexington Center, as well as directly on the MBTA route for the #62/76 busses (Bloomfield stop), and Lexpress bus service.

TRANSPORTATION:

Minuteman Bikeway
Munroe Arts Center is fortunate to be near the Minuteman Bikeway. To get to Massachusetts Ave from the Bikeway, exit at either Seasons Four or Woburn St. Bikes are allowed on the sidewalk in this section. Bikes are allowed on sidewalks throughout Town with the exception of Lexington Center where no bikes can be on the sidewalks of Massachusetts Ave between Woburn St. to the Minuteman Statue. For more information on the Bikeway, visit the Minuteman Bikeway website If you live in Lexington, you can view the Safe Routes to School maps for each part of the community to see which streets are recommended for safer walking and biking.

Lexpress Bus
Lexpress Route C travels past Munroe Arts Center in both east & west directions allowing people to stop right in front or right across the street. The route can be reviewed online.

Lexpress is Lexington’s community public transit, operating since 1979. It is open to people of all ages and abilities. Lexpress is a flag system, so to board at Munroe Arts or across the street, simply wave as bus approaches to signal you wish to board. Bus driver will slow down, stop, and let you on. To exit the bus at Munroe Arts Center, or across the street, simply pull the cord that runs along each side of the bus below the windows. You can also tell the driver where you wish to exit.  To see the real-time bus arrival information for Lexpress buses, download the free Ride Systems app.
Lexpress fares can be paid for with cash, tickets, and passes.
For more information about Lexpress visit www.lexpress.us or call their office at 781-861-1210 or email [email protected]

MBTA
MBTA operates one combined route of the 62/76 from Alewife to Bedford VA Hospital

Student Charlie Cards are available for middle school and high school students at their schools. These cards can be loaded like regular Charlie Cards, but offer 50% off fares.
The routes are typically every 30~60 minutes depending on time of day. Please refer to https://www.mbta.com/schedules/627/line for more schedule info.
To see the real-time bus arrive information for MBTA buses, download the free Transit app. It is the one recommended by the MBTA for their services. For more information, visit www.mbta.com
