In this one-day workshop, students will create a mosaic picture frame that can be used for a
mirror, a photo, or to display a piece of art. You will learn how to build a mosaic with traditional tiles (glass or ceramic), or integrate the tiles with other materials, including shells, stones, sea glass, cracked wall tile, ceramic or pottery shards, coins, or personal mementos. Students are encouraged to look online for mosaic samples that appeal to them. Materials provided include frames, tools, glue, Mexican Smalti glass tiles, shells and ceramic shards. Feel free to bring any items/materials you’d like to include.
