Intergenerational
Saturdays, 11 AM - 12:30 PM
February 1 - March 15, partial semester (no class 2/22)
Instructor - Jamie Magid
$210 + $40 materials fee

This intergenerational class will give children, teens, and adults alike the chance to work individually or collaboratively with ceramics - perfect for a family to be creative together! Participants can create imaginative creatures of clay, having fun while learning fundamentals of the ceramics and studio responsibilities. Handbuilding in ceramics allows students to easily experiment with different clay bodies, glazes, and ceramic tools.
This class is open to all ages (grades 1+), but is not a drop-off program for students grade 5 and under (requiring an Adult Caregiver to register in addition).
All experience levels are welcome. All students are asked to review the 2024-25 ceramics studio guidelines (provided upon registration) ahead of their first class in the space.

                                                Registration Closed.

Adults
Tuesdays, 10AM - 1PM
January 7 - March 18 (no class 2/18)
Instructor - Judith Cooper
$559 + $40 materials fee

This class will cover the basics of hand building: pinch, slab and coil, as well as different surface techniques. Students will analyze the ways one can use, alter and combine these elements to push creative possibilities, use one’s imagination, and one’s life, and be inspired by ceramics of different artists and cultures. Throughout the class, images of other pieces will be shown, both in-person and digitally, for inspiration. Students can spend time sharing works in-progress, discussing ideas and aesthetics, and exploring technical challenges. Expanded class demonstrations, one-on-one assistance, and group conversations with student input will all be an important part of the process.
