Have you been working on a piece of fiction and want to take it the next step? Or have you always wanted to write fiction but weren’t sure how to begin? This course is for you. Come explore the world of creative writing!
This is a workshop-based class in which you will:

Steve Poltorzycki is a published author who has led fiction writing workshops and writers groups and is himself a veteran of numerous writing workshops. He lives in Arlington, where he writes fiction, takes photographs, builds furniture, and dabbles in songwriting.

- Learn about the elements of fiction (story structure, characterization, point of view and voice, dialogue, setting, imagery)
- Read, discuss, and learn from examples of fiction by renowned writers
- Complete several short writing exercises
- Critique each other’s work
- Write and revise at least one short story
