Ceramics Classes for Youth & Teens
These classes instruct students and demonstrate handbuilding methods, throwing skills, glazing, and how to build ideas. New students will learn foundational skills in clay forming, while returning students can continue to practice techniques and explore new ideas.
All levels are welcome!

Youth Ceramics
Grades 4 - 8 (as of 2023-2024 school year)
Mondays, 4:30 PM - 6 PM
July 10 - August 14
Instructor - Nat Moss
$210 ( + $40 Materials Fee)
Students will begin by learning hand-building techniques to create from their imagination. Pottery wheel demonstrations will follow, giving an introduction to wheel-throwing fundamentals. This class explores topics of form, texture, patterns, and glazing, while teaching basic studio responsibilities and cooperation. Projects are both functional as well as sculptural. All experience levels welcome!

This class is geared for teens who want to focus on their throwing skills. Start by developing foundational techniques through demonstrations, then expanding on unique shapes and creative projects. Students are encouraged to experiment on the pottery wheel throughout the semester and discover their own ceramics goals - feel free to explore both sculptural and functional projects! The class will focus on exploring different styles, identifying points of view, and developing good craftsmanship within a shared studio space. All experience levels are welcome!
