Explore your creativity from clay to cup in this partial semester class! The practice of tea ceremonies dates back to ancient times, with the teapot itself at the center. This class will guide students through creating their own unique tea set, including functional pot and cups. All students will begin with an introduction on slab, paddle, and other handbuilding techniques to craft a handle, knob, and functional spout. Depending on preference, students may continue with a combination of handbuilding and wheel approaches for cups and the teapot body itself.
